Lafayette Earth Day 2019
We are excited to once again be participating in Sustainable Lafayette’s Earth Day Celebration downtown (by the library) on Sunday April 28th from 11am- 2pm. This year we will be joining forces with our Lafayette pick up site, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and their other community supported grocery programs: Real Good Fish, Frog Hollow Farm and Riverdog Farm. You will be able to come down, try some samples and learn about all of these unique programs that deliver around the East Bay!
What is CSA/CSF/CSB? Glad you asked!
What started as a business model used by small diversified farms has become a way for small, locally owned food businesses to connect directly with consumers. By supporting one of the businesses below you are engaging directly with a producer to get the freshest, quality food possible and helping mitigate waste at the same time. For a bakery like us that means we bake your goods to order, eliminating overproduction and having surplus food go to waste. For farms like Riverdog and Frog Hollow, CSAs help them maintain cash flow throughout the year and provide a dependable outlet for their peak season produce.
